The world’s oldest potted plant is the Eastern Cape giant cycad (Encephalartos altensteinii) in London’s Kew gardens. The plant, which now weighs over a ton and is nearly 13 ft tall, arrived to Kew in 1775. – WTF Fun Facts

    Thought it said world’s oldest POT plant, and was going to visit. Maybe try a tasty nug or two.

  2. Bonsai trees are potted plants and I understand that there are a couple out there that are a thousand years old or more. Am I mistaken?
